Most gut busting moment EVER!

Ok... time for a "haha" thread.

The other night I experianced the single funniest thing I think I've ever had in a game.

You know those times when you're going for a vehicle and just before you manage to jump in, a red name pops up over it? Well, yeah, that happened. I was going for a tank, an enemy got to it just before I did. I panniced. I had no place to run and no way to do anything to the armoured beast (I was in assualt kit).

What to do, what to do??

I jumped on the back of the tank, naturally! Went prone and prayed. I spent a good 3 minutes riding around on the back of this enemy tanks spamming "Enemy Armour!!!", laughing my arse off, and hoping for a chance to make a break for it. Then I calmed down and remembered I had flashbangs. So I lob some over the turret directy into his field of vision. Musta flashed him good 'cause he freaked! I jumped off and made a mad dash for safty. I shoulder checked on his position... just in time to see him drive off a cliff!!

WOOT!

I SO wish I had a battle recorder file!!

Fot a giggle worthy story ta match/beat this?

Great story! See, this is what BF2 could be like most of the time if it weren't for those overpowered helos.

I love the part about the shoulder check to see him go off a cliff. Awesome. Using a flashbang to make him go off a cliff....awesome, awesome, awesome.

You, sir, deserve props for that.

That's funny and cool...
You know the driver might be on the same side as you with a red name bug. It kinda funny too if you end up killing your own peer. Do you ever think of that?

No chance of that. Even when someone is redtag bugged, if you spot them it will just say "enemy forces". It was very clearly spotting as an enemy tank.

I didn't get credit for the kill, unfortunatly. The driver did die in the resulting explosion when the tank flipped at the bottom of the cliff.

I once went to an enemy airfield and threw flashbanks like crazy. Next thing I know, I saw a enemy jet ram the other jet beside it. To bad I didn't get any kills.

nope i saw an "enemy" with the red tag bug and i could spot him normally. I kept going up to his face and spotting him, and i wondered what he was thinking...

LOL that's a great story. I was on Songhua the other day and I was heading towards an enemy flag (the one right below the Chinese HQ on the 32 player version -- Central Front I think). While on the hill I bust up a pair of APCs and some infantry. An enemy engineer sneaks up behind me and I hear the 'thunk' of him throwing landmines on my vehicle. So I get out (I was an engineer also) and kill him off with my MP7. After I finished him off I got my wrench out and was going to remove the landmine from the back of the tank when all of a sudden the engine starts up and a red name pops up above it. I made a run for it and survived the resulting explosion. I felt so sorry for the enemy engineer - not only did he not get the points for my death, but he died AND got a TK out of the whole deal. Rough day. :p

The red name bug comes in 2 different variants to my knowledge. First the friendly players name simply appears red (or hostile player blue) but they still appear correctly on the players lists and all text relating to them appears correctly. The other variant is when they appear as the wrong team in every way. Their name is the wrong colour, they appear on the incorrect team on the team sheets and any game text refers to them as an opponent. I assume with this second situation you would also be able to spot them as an enemy.

PS That was a damn funny story Wargimp.

i had some good moments too
there were some black hawk hoes on mashtuur, mowing everyone down on our last MEC spawn
so i escaped to our heli spawn, took our chopper and went after those hoes, when i came up after them i crashed into them, 6 suicides (that'll teach them, little bastards:evil: ) of course they were ****ed off and started flaming me because i went kamikaze it was so funny

one time on wake i was squad leader and there were 5 girls in my squad :laugh: i was flying a BH with 5 squad members to jump out and capture a flag, but a fighter locked on, the first missile hit us, i jumped out knowing that the second missile would arrive in a matter of seconds, i screamed over VoIP: JUMP OUT!! But no, they didnt wanna jump out, while i looked up while i was falling i see the BH explode, killing all my squadmembers. They began screaming over VoIP that i was my fault stupid girls...

i really mean it, they were girls, not 12 year old kiddievoices
they were a clan, i believe it was MVC, and one of the girls nicks was Femmenazi :p

Here's two, maybe not quite gut busting but a little funny:

-I was playing Operation Cleansweep, I forget which team I was on but I was at the enemy airfield. An enemy jeep sees me and tries to run me over. I sprint away. He tries to run me over again. Again, I sprint out of the way. Same thing happens once or twice again. Then the fourth/fifth time he crashes into a gas tank and blows up. I felt kind of bad for him because running people over is so much harder than it looks. He was a great sport about it though.
-(Special Forces moment) I was playing Warlord as British and accidently spotted a tank inside the mansion. Then, afterwards, to confirm that I made a mistake I said "Negative" and "Sorry". However, being British "No way, man." came out as (due to the different lines of speech and the accent) "No tanks mate." Thought it was a funny coincidence since that is essentially what I was trying to say.

Yeah, girls play this game. I've encountered 4 as of now (or I'm assuming since they had "girl" in their name). I only remember the scores of 3 (2 sucked REALLY BADLY, on the other hand, one of them was on the enemy team and put up some tough competition for a gold star during a game I played. My k/d ratio was much better than hers, but ironically I'd say the majority of her kills were from killing me.)
