    Friends comp

    Now my Machine is a AMD 64 X2 4400, 2GB memory, 2 Geforce 6600GT SLI..
I run battlefield at the highest possible setting on everything no lag...Except my resolution is 1024x768...

    Buddy of mine has a 7800GT, AMD 64 3200, Venice, 1GB memory
He turns everything up max gets a flip book for a game.

I actually expected his system to run BF2 maxed too...
Seeing as how BF2 really doesn't take advantage of the Dual Core of my processor...and him having a 7800GT...I expected the play to be similar...

What does everyone here think? The 1GB extra memory made that much of a difference in the 2 systems?

Also I have an A8N-SLI Deluxe Mainboard...he has the combo deal Newegg is selling here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188002

You can get that board and the 7800GT for like $379...

2GB are needed to run textures on high. Otherwise just make sure all of his drivers (especially his motherboard drivers) are installed.

So he needs to probably stay around medium until he gets the extra gig of memory then I am guessing...

Most people here adjusting everything through Nvidia control panel? Or are most of you letting the applications control the settings?
