ok who uses ts. iv played since day one & love to play useing ts, but lots off servers don"t bother to set this up for guys who come on there servers. it makes gaming so much more fun, after all bf2 2 is not a one person shooter, its about team work & squad work, if clans want to draw players to them i think this is one of the best ways!!! so if your bf2 severs have a team speak plzzz put your server ip & ts ip on hear.......................

Personally, I would rather use the inbuilt comms rather than Vent or Teamspeak. I like it because when someone talks, it silences the surrounding ruckus so that you could more clearly hear the speaker. Very nifty indeed!

I think he is actually referring to the in game VOIP and calling that TS and that a lot of servers don't have the VOIP setup properly and working.

Our ranked server has VOIP working and people using it. It has a separate server for VOIP in game comms.

Teamspeak wise most clans either use it or Ventrilo and have been for years before BF2 and most are guilty of using it rather than the in-game VOIP comms. We use both TS and VOIP but mainly TS and sometimes forget to use the VOIP for those who aren't on our TS server.

I'm in the same camp as D|sso, but for slightly different reasons.

- Teamspeak costs system resources. Mine are tight. I ran some tests shortly after getting BF2 and both ST and Vent used up more RAM, CPU, and BW than the built in BattleComs.

- Organization. I don't want to hear everyone's random crap. I'm only really interested in what my squadmates have to say. If I'm SL I wanna hear other SLs and the commander. If I'm commander, I only wanna hear from my SLs 'cause I'm fuggin busy!

- VoiP cheats. There's ways to log into both TS and Vent on both sides! I've got no interest in a system where the enemy can hear every word I utter to my team!

- I hate Tabbing out to launch VoiP apps when in game that may or may not have members of my team in them. Even if they are on the chat server, their names are often different from their in-game names and you can't tell who the fug is who.

- Limited use. Chances are very high that casual gamers aren't ever going to bother logging into a 3rd party VoiP server. When I speak, I want people to hear me (or I wouldn't open my yap). What's the point then?

SO!
I'd rather see server admins take the time to set up their damned battle coms correctly than waste time on 3rd party junk that isn't as useful as what's built in!

That said, I often use it when playing with buddies so we can find a server. Once we're all in, we close it down tho.

oh yea... i didnt read his post, i was thinking what he meant by saying "more TS servers", i thought he was lookin for a good TS server host.

The post is so badly worded, I can't honestly tell if he is talking about battlecomes or TS.

The poll makes me suspect he's talking about TS...

I'm with Wargimp in that i use TS to find a server with my mates and then use Voip when in game.
TS was good when using CoD UO etc but not so important now we have Voip on BF2.
Shame its not voice activated so dont have to keep finding the right button to press.
