New System is Here: Will it run SF???

Finally my new system has arrived:

Athlon 4400 Dual Core 22GHz
Abit Fatal1ty Mobo
550 Watt PSU
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream Case
2x 7800 GTX in SLI (125mb each)
2 Gigs of low latency RAM with metal heat sinks (Corsair)
2x 250 gig SATA II drives (raid 0)
1x 250 gig SATA I storage drive
Klipsch 2.1 THX sound system
2405FPW LCD

Scored a 3Dmark05 score of 11,275! (no overclocking!)

Pretty stoked - now I'm downloading patch 1.12 to see if SF will work without a hitch. Thanks guys for all your input!

Well that´s totally making sense, asking people wether SF will run fine while you already got your system and will know in a few minutes anyways.
People could think you just want to brag about "your hardware" :laugh:
But that is not the case riiiight?

To add insult to injury: With the 1.12 patch you can´t be sure that SF will run fine on any comp, as there´s something that makes BF2/SF a slideshow for a lot of people, even with 7800 SLIs and stuff.

your video cards cost more than my comp. hey im not comlaining, i run bf2 on med with 2xaa perfectly fine.

clearly it will not run because 7800gts in SLI are not on the supported card list.

BF2 also did not "support" older Nvidia drivers, but I used the 66.93 drivers until i was finally able to upgrade to WinXP and get the most recent Nvidia drivers working correctly.

"Official" support and what actually works are two different things.

yea wats that and how much did that beast cost u i was thinking on getting a daul core 3800+ for myself and a 256 GTX. how would that run bf2 u think?

Well, here is the verdict:

Played ghosttown in single mode - was awesome to play everything on high (1280x1024 @ 75MHz and 4x AA). First I was getting an average of 80 - 98 fps then after a few rounds the game started to lag and I was getting only 44 - 57 fps (and this is on single player mode!).

I'm happy with the system but disappointed in the big fall off in performance - I'm quite sure I'm not alone. Anyhow it's spilled milk!

This rig cost me close to 3 Grand - decided to splurge some of my bonus on myself instead of my wife. :laugh:

wished i had that much money to spend on a rig. are those 512 or 256 cards. and is it worth my money to buy the 7800GTx 256 card
