Hi everyone, I just got an ATI X850 XT (core 520, mem 540) AGP (early x-mas present, dad is comp illiterate so he bought it while i was with him) Price was $342 CDN(sale) with taxes. I get around 15-40 FPS(25 averge) throughout all maps. I run at 1152x864@75hz Texture-Med, Effects-Med, Geo-Med, Terrain-Low, Lighting-low, Shadows off, global light-low, AA- 4x, texture filt-low. running it all med and all high gets alot of stutter and same FPS.
Computer(detailed): mobile AMD Athlon(tm) XP-M 1900+ (1600mhz), 2x512 Kingston ValueRam (1 pc2700 and 1 pc3200 both running at pc2100), ECS L7VMM3 Mobo AGP 4x, Windows XP Pro XP2, Antec True 430watt (+12v 26a), LG 52x CD-RW, seagate 40gb 7200rpm. AGP Aperture - 64. Newest ATI drivers(installed correctly!) Card runs at 28° idle and 38° when playing. Vid card is at Balanced settings in catalyst.
I would like to know if everyone thinks that the slow performance is due to my computer setup and not the card itself. Just wanting to know just incase there is some way to help it until i get a new computer(which I should be getting soon) feel free to ask as many questions as you may need, Thanks!
