    noobie overclocking a amd 3800+

im thinking about taking my 3800+ up 200mhz to 2.6ghz (on stock cooling) the 3800+ can go to 2.7-2.8ghz fine but im not sure if my ram will be able to take it

i have 2x512mb corsair value ram with a latecy of 2.5 (think that what it is)

also im going to get 2gb of ram soon and that will be 4x512mb 2t command rate i read somwhere that that reduces overclocking for AMD processors

theres no way i can change my RAM as i dont have money to burn

so would you reccomend i overclock or not?

Overclock and just use a ram divider.

It's an option in your BIOS to run the ram at a lower speed than the FSB is set to.

If your multiplier is 10, yes that would be right.

u would think, if you have a 3800+, you dont really need to overclock, but then again its your choice.

so the fsb on my ram is even slower than that?
