Loading Times...

Hi All,

Is it possible to shorten the time it takes to load a level?

im running: P4 2.8 HT, 2GB GeIL RAM, Gainward 7800GTX, 80GB IDE HD

You should get a SATA HD that should help a bit
and maybe a faster CPU.

not really, i have an ide hd, and to be honest its not a lot slower than a sata, and 2gig of ram is plenty. its just the game.

I have a spare sata sat here at work, but im not too sure on installing everything from scratch... and by the sounds of it it doesnt seem too worth it.

Put both HDs in and copy the stuff over.

You could install the game onto a RAM drive

And I agree..SATA is pretty much your only other hardware choice.

A faster CPU will work. I have an X2 4400+ and when it's running at 2.8GHz, it loads within 15 seconds and another 15-20 for verifying client data.

lol i got a 2.8ghz 1GB of ram and it takes quite a long time to load...

yeah my load times are around 45-50 sec's so I guess I aint too bad =)

No..I'm sure you're on the map before most people...but it's always nice to get on even quicker

Anyway, I would say you'd need to buy one of those hardware RAM drives to really pull it off.

Wow, I never knew this game required so much. I load a map in a little over a minute or so and then another 5 minutes to verify, I've heard a faster processor verifies faster, so I guess my Christmas present of a P4 3.0ghz w/ HT will do better right?
