As you know getting in the chopper is often hard cause there is like 4 people waiting trying to take it. Anyways so you get in as pilot(i can gun and pilot)

You get some noob gunner and you see a enemy chopper, you pop the nose to let him shoot tv, yet he spams chaingun untill w die... people like that should be banned form the game

It seems like every other post is some baby whining Noob this and Noob that. Get over yourself mister master of the skies and remember its a game and what ruins it are people like you who bitch about everything. If you don't like playing with new players buy your own server and create your own little world were everything is just the way you want it.

A chopper pilot is a choper pilot. Skill or no skill, still a pilot.

What's your point? That there are no qualitative differences between pilots? You and I both know that a skilled pilot can be a real hassle to bring down, as opposed to greener ones: I've gone plenty of rounds only being knocked out three or four times. Even in those cases where I was constantly taken down, I still ended up with the most teamwork, combat, helo and kit points. Flying coffins my ass.

What is this "real skill" you speak of? I bet I could evade you and your gunner for a whole game of BF2 if we ever met in game. I could probably even shoot you out of your heap of metal.

That's a distinct possibility, though one I'm hesitant to consider in light of my experience in pubs and clan matches so far: I'm always up for a little competition... hit me up if you want to have some fun. :)

Instant fix for chopper noobs: Make the physics realistic. Noob gets in, crashes, whines a bit, and then gives up because they aren't dedicated enough to learn to fly something with realistic physics and they stay out of the helos, problem solved.

An interesting counter point: I was talking to a real chopper pilot who was telling me that flying choppers in BF2 is actually much harder than flying the real things.

Real choppers have auto-hover and auto-stabilization systems.

BTW, I was yaking with him because I enjoy the art of flying BF2 choppers so much that I've been thinking about flying the real things. Now I wanna get my license! Hehe, I've already passed the basic physical... now I just need to come up with a spitload of money to goto flight school!

well, if you dont teach these noobs, you will only encounter them again. why not teach them a thing or two. most may not listen, but to the others they just might listen to you. stop whining, you were once a noob too.

I've been playing for a couple of months and have never once used the tv. Mostly it's because you can't practice in SP (have you EVER rode gunner to a bot?) Same thing with flying in a real combat situation: bots, even when the skill level is 1.0 (expert), don't offer any kind of challenge at all and are extremely predictable. They don't even pay attention to enemy aircraft, it's all evasive defense manuvers, no offensive retaliation fire. The power of the BF2 AI is on the ground.

The point is, not all of us are masters of the game. I understand how annoying it is when the people you're playing with either don't do what you want them to do, what they should do, or just plain suck at it, but what other option do they/we have? There are tons of people on TotalBF2 that know all the names of the guns, and can nitpick about something being technically wrong with a specific tank etc etc, meanwhile people like me are still trying to figure out how to tell who's enemy and who's foe before the nametag lights up.

Some games I rock, some games I roll... into the ditch. Time and time again. My first time feeling confident enough to take a heli online I crashed it into the other heli. I was lagging every 20 seconds or so on that server but thought I'd be okay because I am "so great" when playing SP. But being a human, he reacted to my assault in a more unpredictable way, or at least not in line with how the bots react, and I ran into his tail. As we were spawning he said "noob ram?" I sad "lag ram" but honestly it was more noob than lag.

The other night I logged onto some Special Forces servers for the first time and only took a heli in Surge because there was literally no one around for hundreds of meters and we only had one base left. I was completely overwhelmed by the fog (I'm pretty sure it was surge...) and after a couple of passes I brought the heli back to the pad and appologized for being useless even though there was still no one around to use the heli other than me. Those are just two examples out of maybe 5 attempts at heli flying online. Now I pretty much avoid it at all costs because I'm afraid of costing my team points, which just leads to me NEVER being able to fly. And I love flying.

Give the noobs a break. Not everytime. Maybe once or twice a day. It'll give you karma/brownie points with the Great Sniper upstairs =P

I was smart enought to get a buddy to come with me into an unpopulated server in order to practice with choppers when I was a noob. Did the same with Planes. Until I felt comfortable with my flying skills, I'd left the flying up to people more qualified.

If I can figure out that trying to learn to fly in a populated match is going to annoy the hell outta other people, why can't others?

What ****es me off is the people who camp around the helipad and firmly believe that they have a right to be in it when you've already been flying it since the start of the round.

Was piloting once on FuShe and my gunner was a bit crap so we eventually got blasted out of the sky. Then I see these 2 guys sitting round the helipad and go stand with them. I end up in gunner seat, but the pilot now starts spamming "get out" and i'm like "no way, asshat". Then he starts flying around and spinning in the air trying to scare me, he wasn't bad, I could tell he had a joystick, but he hit the side of the hill, predictably, like a retard.

I've had other people try to claim the heli as well. What's with the attitude? Does he feel insecure unless he's flying with his buddy Superfly? Can't they ask like normal people?

People seriously need to communicate more in BF2. You get some downright inconsiderate people. (and spanish guys who have no clue what's with all these people running around in the game)

Yes,I agree totally...I have a distinct rule to myself, and I abide it like a law. "I shall wait a few seconds to see if others are after a vehicle,if people do NOT hereby claim the vehicle within 25 seonds,10 or 5 if the situation dire,then I will assume it being unused and unwanted and therefore claim it. If I respawn and know evidently that people have been using a vehicle and are standing around it,I will NOT be a jerk and wait near them,hoping to jump in before they do,instead I will go on my way and I will NOT interfere with their routine,as I would expect nobody to do this to me,the ****er who does I shall probably watch as they command my gunner to bail and then crash like a moron,I will then proceed to laugh in their face." Rule...uhh....3..main rule.

That is the smart thing to do but not everyone has or will do this. People all have to learn somewhere. Get off thier case. Unless they do this multiple time even after you expalin it to then you have no right to get angry about it.
