Why haven't I earned my knife or pistol badge yet?

Why don't I have either? For the knife badge it says I have 25 kills and if I get 25 more I make it to veteran but what about basic? Same with pistol, it says I have 50 kills with a pistol but I still haven't gotten my basic pistol badge.

I really need answers to this because I need these badges to make it to the next rank!

You have to get 7 kills in a single round for knife and 5 kills in a single round with pistol to get the basic badge.

u need 7 knife kills IN A ROUND (IAR)
nd 5 IN A ROUND kills with pistol

Ah, I didn't understand what IAR meant until now and a few hours ago, but I wasn't too sure.
