    Installing 1.12 patch makes system hangs

    I'm sorry if this subject has been coevered before but I tried google.com and
    a search on this great site but foun'd no problems as mine.

    The thing is that I got Medion computer
    with 1 gb of ram
    and 2.6 ghz of processor
    ATI 800 126 mb ram card

    I haven't tried BF2 since Patch 1.03 but
    I had to format my machine because of some trojan.
    So I installed Windows XP home and Soney Vegas 6.0

    Then I wanted to get back to BF2 last week, but I started my
    installing BF2 of my DVD and then installing the 1.12 update.

    Every time I do that my system freezes while doing that..

    I uninstalled everything connected to BF2 including the folder in My documents

    I was using Bit Defneder virus program while installing from my DVD..

    I really want to get things working before I install BF2 SF.. but with no luck
    as for now..


    Please can you help me.. I tried Google and totalBF2 forum before posting this.

    Be patient dude...patch 1.12 takes a bit of time to install.
    Your system might appear to be hanging but it's not.
    ...give it a good 15 minutes wait.

      I waited for more than hour... The system really hangs ... I cant even move
      the mousepointer..

      anybody?

          Hmm a format doesn't seem to work either eh? Make sure you have more than 3 Gig of space left on Drive C.....Else i dunno what the problem could be...

              haha i laugh at your pain, but warily, because last time i laughed at a guy whos BF2 had black flashes then crashed, mine started doing that the same day!

              nevertheless, i laugh at your pain!

                  ok sure, you installed 1.03 before 1.12?

                  that could be it. also your trojan could too.

                    Thank you, but patch 1.12 was the only Patch I used after installing the original BF2. Shoul I have installed 1.03 ?

                    I formatted the computer last week and installed an up to date
                    virus program Bitdefender Pro 9... So I doult there is a trojan so
                    soon.. I'm not using email program anymore on my PC and have not
                    used it much since I formatted it.

                    Any other suggestion.. anyone?
