This is insane, I run a 64 MB X300, 2 gigs, 1.6 CPU, and I can run it on medium! It's quite shocking to me that some of these exelent riggs can't run higher than low when mine rules over yours! yes, I do run about 25 fps but I'm used to it! (and if you think that I'm lying about my vid card, why would I lie? If I had a better card I wouldn't hide it :hmm: )

I remember when I was looking to upgrade my 5700, my ATi fanboy friends tried to make me get ATI, they all said their 9800 pro's played the game at all max settings. While, my nvidia fanboy FRIEND, tried to convince me all ATI cards were the same and all they did was overclock and that my other friends were all lying. If you played at max what kind of FPS would you get with the 9800 pro?

Indeed. My laptop can go to all high and x2 AA, with 100% Draw Distance, and get 35-40 fps. I love it.

                Ive got...

                FX 5200 128 MB
                512 MB Ram
74 Gig hard drive with like 10-15 GB left...

So all you n00bs complaining about your "medium settings" and complaining about not being able to run it on high...i can barely scratch low

I understand you mate, just switch from FX5200 to ATI 9600. With my FX5200, all was on LOW except effect... maybe you should just buy a better cheap card. I bought mine 75$ CAN.

I run a 9800PRO AIW here. Do you have a screenshot of these problems? I notice with the new patch distant textures show up pitch black from time to time but it hasnt killed me yet so I havent worried about it to much until 1.2.1 comes out.

LOL you wanna see some real bottlenecking? I have a 9800 PRO, w/256MB with all low settings and I get constant lock up and like 20 FPS.... I have a 1.8 Intel btw....

No worries, my new AMD will arrive in the summer

I had heaps of graphic issues with my 9800 when using ATI's driver I switched to the Extreme ATI driver as recommended HERE and I havent looked back. No graphic issuses like the distorted graphics, no boots to desktop or reboots. I run medium settings and dont seem to suffer from any notice fps drops. Id recommend it if you are having issues, it may help

I got Radeon 9600XT, 1gig and all medium with 2x AA. It looks awesome! I wouldn't mind to have all on high, but this is enough for me. (If you can, put on AA, you won't regret it)

PS. I didn't notice any diffrence in the beggining when I turned on 2x AA, but then when I looked at the L8 I saw how smooth the line were and suddenly everything else looked good... ...magic.

EDIT: I had 512MB RAM before and it took 5 minutes to load a map. After I bought 512MB more RAM I can load maps in less than 2 minutes on Linux servers or non-pure servers (no verification), verifying client data takes about 5 minutes if I play on a pure server - but I never do.

Well for now im using a Sapphire Radeon 9600 SE 128MB DDR ...(non-pro)
i took pics for people who wanna see what BF2 would look like with a Radeon 9600 - 9800 card....these pics were taken with a Sapphire Radeon 9600 SE 128MB DDr card at all Med settings with 2xAA,16xAF .....by the way with these settings i play BF2 with no slow downs.. so a 9800 pro with med settings and 4xAA, 16xAA would play feairlly well..with no slow downs..because i play BF2 with all high settings 2xAA,16xAF at 800x600 and it plays quick w/out slowings at all with my radeon 9800 pro and my specs....even with shadows and lighting high.. well heres the link to the pics..plus i took the pics with fraps
