Square Shadows - game engine or my pc?

I had this type of shadow on my old video card, and my new one looks exactly the same.

Is this what its suppose to look like?

That's a common ATI problem which they still haven't fixed. Most ATI users have this problem, not much you can do about it, though the Omega Drivers slightly reduce the problem, but doesn't solve it either.

All of my problems with black textures were taken care of by going to 2 gigs RAM...also helped with overall game play...
Go to FRY's they have 2 week return policy....if it doesnt take care of it, return.


EDIT: Just re read the posting...thought it was about black colored textures and black flashes in game.........yeah some of the textures and shadows are strange with the ATI cards. Before the 1.3 patch they (shadows) were really awful....check out the sand bags sometime...some of them look like gold molten lava...very strange.

Just the same 2 gigs did well by me

I already got 2Gb of ram, just wanted to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the card
