Confused, Expert Medic Combat badge

Last night I got the Expert medic combat badge on The Iron Gator.... But the medal shows up in the normal BF2 badge section not in the SF section where I still have the Veteran medic badge. Why didn't the kills give me the SF badge?

You need 44 kills in a round for the expert medic special forces badge, but only 40 for the vanilla expert medic badge. I'm thinking you got over 40 kills, but not 44, or else you should have gotten both.

I agree with Titan - you should have seen 2 awards come up if you did not have the vanilla one before.

That sucks for you that you were within 4 kills of expert SF - that is hard as crap to get - as far as I have seen. I have come within 1-2, but never hit 44 kills in SF...well not when I had the right kit.

Most of the time I realized I was racking up the kills, and then switched to one of the kits that I can get expert on, and never was able to catch up.

If you start out as say Spec Ops, and have 38 kills, then switch to medic and get the other 6 (or 2 for vanilla) does it not only register the kills you received as medic towards a medic combat badge?

If you are going after medic badge - only the kills made as a medic count towards the kills IAR requirement. You can be a medic commander and get some of your kills from an arty strike - but that is different than getting 39 sniper kills and getting your 40th from medic and expecting the medic badge.

Make sense?

If you are going after medic badge - only the kills made as a medic count towards the kills IAR requirement. You can be a medic commander and get some of your kills from an arty strike - but that is different than getting 39 sniper kills and getting your 40th from medic and expecting the medic badge.

That's what I thought, but something about when I initially read you post confused me :)

You have to recieve the bf2 version of the unlock, award, or badge prior to recieving the SF version from what I've heard

Simply, even though it sucks you were probably 4 or less kills away from both the basic Expert bf2 medic badge needs 40 kills. Sf needs 44.
