Desktop Crash *Patch*

Well I was away for a few months , when I got back I installed the latest BF2 patch 1.12. The game starts up perfectly everything works fine, except once a message appeared saying that I should install the latest nvidia drivers, so I did that....and the message went away after that. Now when I find a game and try to connect to it, Battlefield 2 will crash and it will take me back to my desktop. Plus it always tell me that I should install the 1.12 patch when I log in, but at the top of the corner screen it already says 1.12(not sure if this has anything to do with the crash).

The 1.12 install message is standard, everyone gets it. As far as the CTD search the forums, chances are you didn't install the display drivers properly, so refer to this thread:
