win x64 bit compatibility issues???

im thinking of installing the x64bit windows but im not sure of the compatibilities it uses, can anyone give me info???, maybe your using it already, is it any good? will the same drivers i have on win xp be ok to use with it, what are the noticeable improvements over win xp etc ect.....ive checked the threads and cant see one about this issue......help!!!!

i have it, just make sure to get x64 drivers, bf2 runs on it

I've heard X64 performs faster.

I like my win 64 its stable & fast no need for reboots only prob i had was with installing Secial Forces the web site would not install the INSTALLER (some BS error about a wrong OS) had to save the applet on my 32 bit machine move it to my 64 then run it.

I have some problems with my SB Audigy "SE" super cheapo card when playing BF2 in hardware sound mode. And an other problem witch isn't related tot the OS. Butt if you don't count the problems, BF works very well.

Also make sure you have plenty of RAM, x64 needs a litte more than its x86 counterpart.

dont do it if lost or cd or use a mini image mout to run the game.. virtual DVD drive image mounting has lots of problems with X64

Take a note of all your hardware and make sure that 64bit drivers exist for all of them (Canon for example don't have a lot of 64bit drivers atm)

Of course you've heard that. That's the whole point of having a 64 bit OS. But you have to have a 64 bit machine to run it. However, because BF2 was not designed to run on a 64 bit platform, the game itself probably won't run any faster.
