Do the Iraqis have C4 at all? Or some other kind of plastics?
I'd guess that most IED have arty round explosives in 'em... someone enlighten me

Generally most IED, type explosives are nothing more than an old tank shell, most of which left over from the Gulf War & Desert Storm. And all they do is wire in a fuse, and wait for something to come by..

Most of which are just buried in the soft dirt next to roads, and buildings. Some groups have been known to pour gravel around the explosive, and cover with dirt, so you get lots of shrapnel flying through the air. I've posted a picture below of a vehicle that was hit with a small IED, that was buried that way. As you can see, it does serious damage!

This was an armored SUV, so there were no serious injuries, but as you can see, without the steel plates in the doors, and the reinforced windows, the passengers would be dead, or seriously injured.

Man after watching that sniper video, if i join the army i will have ful body armor, head to tow.

All very interesting, thanks for that bit of info!:) It strikes me how simple yet effectice IED are. How much are humvees capable of resisting a typical IED?
I saw "Gunners Pallace" and the general concesus seems to be that they are really thin skinned and rather weak

Yeah dude, that was scary. I wouldnt eat food in the hatch aswell mabe when out in the desert but not in some hotzone
