We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
whenever i try and connect to a server that is full the game crashes to the desktop, it then goes to a black screen (the screen flickers like it is changing resoloution) it will stay on that screen, and i have to ctl + alt + delete out of the game.
Please can you help me, i have asked EA support (but we ll no how helpfull they are)
P.S i have turned my firewall off.
Thanks
Has nothing to do with your firewall. I guess your video card is having problems switching between different resolutions. What resolution are you playing the game at? Try changing the game resolution, and don't forget to clear your BF2 cache files before loading the next map.
If this doesn't help try resetting video driver settings, or reinstall new video drivers.
Make sure that no screen refresh rate overrides are set in your display driver configuration.
When did this problem occur first? You seem to have played BF2 for a while. I'm guessing that you didn't have this problem from the beginning.
i play the game at 800*600, but my moniter is running at 1280*1024. I will try and update my drivers and see if that has solved the problem. Can you recommend any drivers. (not sure what are the latest ones)
P.S i have been in contact with EA for about a week, and i have had no proper solution that could work.
maybe a complete fresh re-install of BF2, and SF expansion would solve this problem.
Regarding the drivers: I don't know what graphics card you're using.
I have a Nvidia 6800GT gpu. I found the 81.95 drivers to work very well with BF2 and SF.
Try those if you're using Nvidia hardware. I am not sure which drivers perform best with BF2 and ATI gpu's.
But it seems pretty clear that SF caused the problems, so backing up your user profile from your My documents\Battlefield 2 folder then re-installing the game incl. SF and updates might just fix the issue.
Of course you could just say that you simply are going to try to not click on almost full or full servers to avoid the CTD in the future
