BF2 New Patch release on Jan 1st 2006?

I was on a server yesterday and the Admin green messages that come up, said that thier is an expected patch coming out on Jan 1st 2006? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

it might be true, might not. If you remember, the 1.03 patch was supposed to come out the last week of August...

Someone should check the servers and see if there is any EA employees trying out a newer version. That's usually how we find out about patches early.

Hmm..I also noticed that under 'gamevariant', it's listed as 'xpack2'.

Another map name is 'Burning Mesa'.

Do they normally test patches on maps we know nothing about? Or wouldnt it be logical to be testing on existing maps? Unless this means we are getting new maps. Or do they practice testing on non existence maps?
