I was a gunner to an awesome cobrapilot yesterday. Just after takeoff he rolled the cobra (like you roll a jetplane)! The roll took just a second. Later on, I tried to do myself in singleplayer, but I couldn´t do it. I lost too much altitude and crashed. I use a mouse. Anyone know how do do it? Do I have press any keys (A,S,D,W) during the roll? Or it is undoable with a mouse?

Re: Rolling with cobra?
You need to up your sensitivity and I think I also use A or D depending on if I'm going left or right. But find out for yourself instead. Boot up a server rise to 300m altitude and roll away.Originally posted by Marwin_42I was a gunner to an awesome cobrapilot yesterday. Re: Rolling with cobra?
You just need to be high enough when you do it , you can also do a backwards loop like when in a plane(fronts ways dosnt work). Its all just one key btw or one mouse movement if you use a mouse.Originally posted by Marwin_42I was a gunner to an awesome cobrapilot yesterday. Re: Rolling with cobra?
Its doable with mouse alright. I do it occasionally, but its mainly to show-off, there isn't any real purpose of doing it. Its not nearly as good as a loop to evade a plane and it brings your altitude down so it's useless against other choppers.
I use a Logitch G5 mouse where you can change sensitivity on the fly. I often put it up to 2000dpi when doing tricks in the chopper, but its also doable at lower dpi. If your mouse is capable of changing sensitivity on the fly, try it out. Otherwise just go up high enough so you won't hit ground. (You need to go up rather high anyways with high sensitivity).
It might be an idea to change your yaw and pitch factor and the sensitivity of the Heli controls under options too. I think I have my yaw and pitch at medium range and the sensitivity at 3 (I use my mouse to change that in-play). Test out different setting and choose what you prefer.
I just rip my mouse hard to one side and use the A or D key the same way I roll. I'm not sure if A or D are needed since I more or less do it without thinking.Comment

Re: Rolling with cobra?
I've done barrel rolls and flips with the attack helos, and use a mouse as well.
As someone else said, the key is sensitivity, you need it wayyy up there :)Comment

Re: Rolling with cobra?
I fly the heli with the keyboard only and barrell rolls are really easy to do. Simply hold down right or left arrow key and it rolls really quickly. As it rolls quickly you can do them from low altitudes. Same with back flips.
They are not just for show either, I use them as a dog fighting tactic and it works really well. Every tried to hit a heli when its doing a barrell roll? I'll often do them when I run out of ammo and waiting for it to reload. I also do them when I think the enemy heli is going to fire a tv guided missile and if you get it right they can never hit you.Comment

Re: Rolling with cobra?
Well, I can't tell you how to do a barrel roll in a chopper, but I can tell you it looks mighty impressive from the ground.
You flyboys, plane or helicopter whores you may be, have saved my behind more than once. And there's nothin' wrong with a little victory dance after you nail a squad that's just respawned on its leader...Comment

Re: Rolling with cobra?
Just roll as you would roll in an airplane, roll left / right as hard as you can, then counter with the other side 10-30% to get it back on track.Comment

Mouse sensitivity of planes, helicopters, land vehicles, and infantry are all separate in the options menuOriginally posted by ahhsaithat's one dilemia i face, i need high sensitivity when piloting, and low qhen i'm sniping.....and i cant change it on the fly :SComment

It is pretty easy the choppers are completly n00bified, just go up to 150 and flip it over.Comment

Hmm......let me think......I think u draw the mouse to the left or right depending on which way u want to roll.....Comment
