I have a 7.1 Creative surround system, with an Audigy 2 Value.. When I play BF2, and I am facing an object that explodes(grenades, artillery), I don't hear any bass, and the sound is really low. I know that part of it has to do with my speakers settings. Since my rear speakers are far away, I lowered the front and side volume, but even when I turned them back up, the subwoofer puts out just about no noise. When I am not facing these objects, the bass is really loud(if it is behind me). Does anyone know what might be causing this, or has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks alot.

Re: 7.1 Surround No Bass From Front??
What happens when you run Creative's speaker test? Do all of test sounds work and sound right?
You have tried the speaker calibration applet (in the speaker setup app) and see if it detects a problem?
What driver version are you running?
Does this happen in other games? -

Re: 7.1 Surround No Bass From Front??
I have the same problem with an Audigy value, thought it was just me...
The only solution I can find is to change from "Hardware" to "Software" in the sound settings.
It's annoying though as the Hardware option seems to have much better surround sound, just no bass for anything in front of you.
Anyone else got any ideas on this? I use Medusa surround sound headphones which work really well, but I'd like to be able to use the Hardware settings properly.
I have installed the latest drivers, a surround sound demo file plays perfectly from all the speakers in my headphones so I don't know what else to try - for me no other games are affected.Comment

Re: 7.1 Surround No Bass From Front??
I have the exact same issue. If throw a grenade in front of my character it sounds very flat with no bass, but if i throw it in fron of me and then turn right, I could hear it perfectly from the front left channel. I'm using a Medusa 5.1 headset on a Fatal1ty X-Fi cardComment
