I wouldn't reccomend the 9800PRO. Drop you CPU down to a 3200 or 3000 and use the saved money to get a better video card.

Depends on how much you want to spend. A 6600gt or a 6800 are both great cards that are relatively inexpensive.

get the 6600GT, great bang for the buck in my opinion. i believe you can get a PCI-E version between 150-180$ from newegg. i'm currently using EVGA 6600GT PCI-E and set everything on MED, i have no lag problems at all (i'm also running on 2 gigs of ram)

lil_jimmy I do not agree with you on this one.

Keep that 9800 pro and get a 3200+, overclock that to 2.4ghz. Get a ASROCK DUAL SATA board, it has a AGP and PCI-E slot. Make sure you get 2GB of ram.

                        Good luck.

Re: Ganna buy new system parts

if he has an exsiting 9800pro then yeah keep it, but if he's looking for a new card and don't have a lot of money to spend then you can't go wrong with the 6600GT. i believe both 9800pro and 6600GT are inthe same price range but if you look at some 3Dmark tests you'll see 6600GT will breat the 9800pro hands down.

hey good advice that will really help him out in making his decision damn nvidia fanboys

and ati 9800 pro that he already has will work just fine short term
take the extra money and get good back bones components ram hard drive cpu most important when u have cash and the games demand it get a new card at least at that point it will be a small upgrade not another major overhaul
