Heres the deal. I am thinking of getting SF. But I know I wont be having a good time since nobody is happy with their framerates (even when they have the technology of the world inside their comptuers). So that bascially ruled out playing new maps. But how bout the unlockable weapons you can use in vanilla bf2? Should I get the game so i can use those better weapons in vanilla? Are the weapons enough of a reason to get the game? Yes or no? Please support your answer with some opinions. Thx

Re: Should I buy SF for the weapons?
People didn't buy SF for the weapons.
It's a different style of play from being whored by some jet pilot in bf2
Who's complaining about crap frame rate? my computer is over 2 years old except for my geforce 6800 and it runs just the same as bf2 doesComment

Re: Should I buy SF for the weapons?
i got sf for the weapons, cuz i dont see how the navy seals cold go in battle against the sas. if u want special forces games, just get like rainbow six or something. at least in that u fight real (possible) enemies. and plus the skins and models in sf are so horriblely done exept for the spetsnaz.and i get retail sf for cheap, bout 30 bucks canadian(wish i could do better) on ebay. ships bout 8 copys every 2 months. so anyof u care bout saving 9.99+ tax, can go check it out when i put it up.Comment

Re: Should I buy SF for the weapons?
Most people get bad frame rates because they're trying/want to run the game in high quality. I have a pretty decent PC and if I want to play in high quality(meaning everything high, or most stuff) I'll have to deal with choppy frame rates. If I run the game on medium/high I can run it with no problems no matter where in a map I'm at.
If I can fix the game by running medium/high, everyone can. But still there's people that say they get choppy framerates. I'm not saying everyone runs it at high, but if you're not, and still getting choppy framerates, it would be time for an upgrade.Comment

Ive noticed its most of the people who were playing bf2 all settings maxed with highest aa and af possible that complain because we have to play like we have lower end computers when we DO have "a super computer". We lower settings to what you with lower end systems use (which ofcourse runs fine.) I for one "**dont start the argument about ULTRA-HIGH doesnt do anything please, its not the point**" was running all settings ultra-high , 6xaa 100 vd 1280x1024 and it runs so much smoother than SF even though I have it running fine now with all settings high , 6xaa 100vd at 800X600 . Which in my opinion is something to complain about. - now you honestly knowComment

Re: Should I buy SF for the weapons?
That's pretty much what i do, i barely ever play SF maps. ANyways, for the G36E and the MG36, it's worth it imo.Originally posted by TITAN126Why would you pay $30 for 5 computerized weapons?! I'm hoping that most people bought SF for the new armies, maps, and vehicles, not just the new unlocks. If you bought SF just for the 5 new unlocks, you're just stupid.Comment

Re: Should I buy SF for the weapons?
I agree, get SF for the different gameplay. The new weapons only enhance the new maps and strategies. The night maps are a lot of fun, but I'm a HUGE fan of the new daytime maps such as Mass Destruction and Surge. I think they are brilliant.Comment
