I've been playing Battlefield 2 for a few months now.
I've a fairly high spec PC.
I'm running Windows XP Home.
Processor is AMD Athlon 64 4600.
2GB DDR 400 RAM.
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX.
Creative Audigy Soundblaster.
200GB free on hard drive.
I've had no problems running Battlefield 2 until today when I downloaded the new patch having discovered I couldn't play online.
I downloaded the patch and got a message saying patching failed.
When I try and run the game I get a black screen and before I even get the EA Games splash screen, I end up back on the desktop.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and found I can run the single player game but can't get online with it. Since the patch won't work, I'm worried I'm stuck in single player mode in future.
Please could someone give me some advice?
