minimum directX version?

does anyone kno..

if adding "-dxlevel [number]" changes the dxlevel
and
wat is the lowest it can go?

examples are:
-dxlevel 70 for directx v.7
-dxlevel 80 for directx v.8.0
-dxlevel 81 for directx v8.1
-dxlevel 90 for directx v9.0

and i know ive posted this b4, but i never got a response

I'm guessing 9.0c, since it comes with BF2.

when he says that the difference between 8.0 and 8.1 is 1.4 shaders, does that mean that 8.0 doesnt support 1.4 shaders?

Why are you using command line parameters for the source engine on Battlefield 2? I believe these commands wouldn't work on Battlefield 2.
