I guess i'm one of the lucky ones

Lately i've been seeing loads and loads of threads about my UBER rig runs SF like crap. I've never had any probs running the game maxed and my computer is no where near as good as some of these peoples. Also i see how Data Verification seems to take forever as well but i'm only waitinf for about 10 secs for that to verify. My specs are:

Socket 478 Pentium 4 at 3.2Ghz
Intel Deperlk mobo
2 gigs of reg POS ddr400
an x800pro from visiontek agp
onboard audio
and 2 10,000 rpm satas non raided

and i run the game at 1280 by either 968 or 1024 somethign like that with everythign maxed. It seems rather odd.

Are you talking about verification?

Verificating your account while joining a server, differs in time dependant on the servers speed. Turning off firewalls helps the loading time decrease.

I gues im lucky to....Taked me 5 sec to login to a server. No lag or whatsoever....

But my specs are less than the quote...

Amd 2800+
1 gig ram.
Raedon 9600 XVvoi 250mb
All set on medium high...

Glad you guys have no problems. Also glad you don't mind reducing your settings either. The answer to your smooth gameplay was rather obvious. Most who are having issues are those who can crank the graphics to the max in BF2 with good frame-rates. These same high settings don't work in SF.

If you can run 1280x1024 (or above) with 4X AA / 8X AF and everything on high (including sound) with the specifications you listed, I'd like to see that

Loading doesn't take long for me but the client data verification does. Really silly. My issue is memory I'm sure.

Well....your settings are rather low, and you don't mention your resolution.

If I ran my rig at those settings it would scream in BF2 and SF.

Oh forgot...set your Nvidia settings to "high quality", not "quality".

I think you guys don't understand there is a difference when BF2 AND your control panel are set to their highest settings, it makes a huge difference. I really want to see a 6600 do all that :)
