I think I'll roll back to warcat. I'm getting artifacts when looking at light in nightvision.

I got a Radeon 9800XT and I got strange misty fuzzy artifacts when I use nightvision and look at high contrast bright textures. Just like the others have I think. This is not just in Omega, it's in all drivers based on 5.12 unfortunately. Though I do get an performance boost in the game, which is good.

I was going to try the Omega drivers today until I read the readme.txt that listed all of the changes, and there's nothing in there that looks like it'll help BF2 out. I think the power of the Omega drivers isn't just in installing them; it's in knowing what each option is. I think they just make a userface that lets you tweak the Catalyst files yourself. I don't know enough about the innards of Catalyst to even play around with them. That said, Cat 5.12 brought my HL2 fps way up, but oddly I was still flutuating between 20 and 200fps with all on high. Seriously! And although I don't use the nightvision that much, I tried it out and yeah, there are serious afterburns. I can't figure out why it'd do that. It almost leads me to believe that 5.12 handles nightvision better and Special Forces was coded a little sloppy.

              Same $hit 5.10,5.11 and these 5.12's.

Yep, Just got some more info, the 5.12 and the Omega's give that sortof ghost appearance, and it sorta seeable in the flash bangs. But the omega's are the best drivers I've ever seen, I have lag free gameplay. I reccomend them totally over the 5.12.

Only thing bad about it them is the unistall procedure...

The Omegas have the same bug with NV as the Officials do.See my post HERE
I mean performance was good but that just makes them intolerable stickin to Official 5.11s until 6.1 or a hotfix.

If there's a general performance increase, that's a very slight bug to have to endure.

I have an x800 pro and this game runs terrible on my system, have to run it with medium settings on 800x600 for it to be smooth.

Not a high end, but not a low end system either.

Rest of the specs, AMD64 3000+, 1gb DDR400 Dual Channel Ram, 160gb 8mb Cache HDD.

Also, these are the following steps to remove Omega drivers:

                      1. Go to the Windows Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs section.
                      2. Uninstall the ATI Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center, don’t restart.
                      3. If uninstalling the Omega Drivers, uninstall Radlinker (if using an old driver set).
                      4. Uninstall the existing driver set, restart.
                      5. Boot your PC in safe mode.
                      6. Run Driver Cleaner, restart afterwards.
                      7. If uninstalling the Omega Drivers, now uninstall the Setup Tools from the Start Menu.
                      8. Now you can install any driver you like.

If I wanted to just remove them and put 5.11's what would I have to do ? Same procedure ? Also If i have a restore point of when I had 5.12's would that work and remove them ? They're fantastic but I wanted to know if I needed to go back for a reason, what would I do...

I uninstalled it using the uninstall utility that came with it. Then installed warcats. My PC has still not blown up.

                        :P

I think there is a built in timer delay, or it will blow up when you turn the corner and have 6 enemies grouped together with their backs to you.
