I fly the chopper with keyboard only... am i weird?

This is my first week of bf2, im still a crappy pilot and sometimes crash when planes shoot at me lol, but im a pritty good gunner.

what kills me is that when im made to pilot the chopper the gunner is not smart nuff to hit c once so that he can see better and gunner targets under the chopper.... or gunners that only use the chaingun

You're not the only one that flies the chopper with the keyboard only. I do too and I do a decent job at it. But if you really want to get good with a chopper, you'll need a joystick.

Being gunner is fun. Sometimes I forget that I have the TV guided missles!

im just wondering how a joystick would work? How do you control pitch and truning with only a joystick? i assume it does both with the same control? SO if you turn it tips you and turns at the same time?

I generally only fly the Blackhawk and haven't tried a joystick, but I'm pretty confident from what I've seen in over 300 hours of game play, that I can do anything that a joystick flyer can do in a Blackhawk, using only my trusty keyboard and mouse.

P.S. You don't need to "invert" the controls on the mouse, like some have suggested. You may have to play with and adjust the sensitivity to suit your tastes and reflexes though. I'd suggest a mouse you can adjust on the fly like the Logitech MX518, which is what I use.

ive been using keyboard only since DC...
its never failed me...way better thana mouse...ive never tried using a decent joystick to fly a heli so i dont know...

but the keyboard only does a dam good job hehe

only keyboard here since DC just like the guy above. I dont have a joystick and i dnt really care to have one. Although a joystick would be nice for flying planes....oh well
