Realism in BF2- Appropiate amount?

I kind of hate some things in BF2. But I know why it is not realistic, Im guessing because of balancing out teams.

What do you think of the realism in the game?

Other than a few stupid crap the realism is just enough to make the game enjoyable and not boring.

Yeah just what I was thinking.

I still think helicopters and planes should be more specialised, and harder to control. Like in desert combat.

There's always a balance of realism and fun. I think BF2 isn't too realisitc, but that's a good thing because that makes it fun.

ever played "serious sam" it's absolutly not realistic but it is big fun.

That's a good example. That game is a lot of fun. It isn't realistic but when you're having fun, you don't care.

I think the major dissapiontment for me in the game has to be the sniper rifles. The sound annoys me more than anything.

I've only read little bits and parts, but I never really get to read the whole thing because of the books I have to read for my classes.

Try reading it, you may find some stuff useful in there.

Agree, Helos & Jets are WAY too easy for everyone to control them, it should
be a lot harder to master them.

Eh. It's Vanilla BF2. It's not even close to realistic. Hell, it's not even fun to me. But! It is exactly what EA said it would be. So. I play mods.

...guess the short answer is. Vanilla has just the right amount of realism, because, it's Arcade. So, it has none. Besides models/basic concepts I can't think of ONE thing that's realistic about Vanilla BF2.

u know what really grinds my gears?

people in BF2 who bunny hop, and base camp. And for some reason most admins do it, and ban or kick others who do it.

If it was realistic, one of those attack heli missiles would destroy a blackhawk instead of 10.

the game is pretty realistic except for some stuff like effects...muzzleflashes are not fancy like that..ive fired shotguns and big flashes dont come out, only smoke. and also the damage levels are really unrealistic....the m95 should be able to rip ppl apart...and it doesnt even kill in one shot
