Well i was reading the postings regarding people having the "connection has been lost" error. Well i have been having this issue since the 1.12 patch and i have did everything to narrow the problem down.
First i have reformatted my system and did a clean install of all the sotware. I have ran anti-virus and spyware software and nothing was found. I have changed internet connections from going from cable (Cox) 5.0/768 internet to ADSL (Speakeasy) 6.0/768. The ADSL is a better route for me so i am not sharing with the entire neighborhood. But with both type of internet connections i have this issue still occuring. Next i have installed my game plus updated PunkBuster onto two different computer systems Intel and AMD. No there are no scratches or marks on my BF2 CDs and the problem still occurs.
So what did i learn from all this? Well there was no viruses or spyware. The internet connections were fine. Just when playing the game i would get this message and obviously cannot play on the servers. This has happen on more than one sever. But yet when i quit the game back to my internet. I am able to use FireFox, IE, Opera to surf the net without haveto reboot the system. My average ping on the servers i play is 50. All hardware has been checked and has the most updated drivers still no problems found.
Finally, if everything has been checked it sounds like EA/Dice needs to look into this issue more carefully. But i really am in doubt they are going to fix this netcode issue.
