Commander kill count towards ribbon

I have been getting some contradictory info, I know arty strike kills don’t count as kills in your score, but I have heard a lot of people state that the kills do count towards streaks, and do count towards obtaining ribbon/badge.

Example: if as a commander you are sitting in a helo and you kill 22 people in 20 min with arty strikes you get your helo ribbon……can this possibly be true?

Does anyone know if this is true by experience?

yes.. it works.. i got my ground defense ribbon that way...(after the patch.. )

Yes it works... Thats how I've gotten almost all my badges/ribbons (except the Knife, Pistol & Explosives)....

You see for the longest time i had a view scale of 50 & was getting like 20fps... well i finally tried it on 100 and i was getting like 15fps... Its still hard to play but now i can see as far as other people so its easy to get kills now...

Artillery kills award you with "kill" points but not "score" points.

Arty kills DO count to ribbons/badges(BESIDES weapon badges;ie knife, pistol), period.

it's in the SF forum because there is a ribbon i need in SF, and this is a possable technique I can use to get it.....I already have all the vanila ribbons.

And just to reiterate the truth....

Yes, artillery kills DO count towards ribbons and badges, but NOT towards commander score.

Agreed...

Got half of my SF badges by playing commander as the the corrosponding class... I play commander by hiding and directing the battle, never activly shooting it up, yet I got three of my SF badges via arty kills (among a few of my BF2 badges--one of them a lvl2 badge--via arty kills..

wrong wrong and a little more wrong ... oh and proven wrong.

You can get badges, awards, etc from being commander and getting the kills from arty strikes to count towards it.

Look at the badges you have - vs the badges I have. Basic, Vet, and expert can be gained from this method. Worked since BF2 vanilla...and still does.

ok yea u already said it wont work for knife or pistol badges...but what if u weild ur knife the whole time?? wonder if it would coun then?
