    Lost CD... Thread locked?

Before you all start flaming READ the POST morons!!!!

What if this guy REALLY did buy the game and now has to fork out another $50 for another CD and KEY, you only need 1 key to play. That is how they regulate this game, not by copies of the game, but by authentic CD keys.

There was a thread about a lost CD and now it is locked. If the CD was really lost, you can always try to download it from the web. You already have your serial number, on your manual….

Or better yet, BORROW the CD from a friend and install it, maybe even make a copy, this may not work and you will need Alcohol or cd4hide to get it to work. You’ll need to research this.

Now, start flaming on this next paragraph…..

Oh and by the way, now it seems that EA is forcing us to BUY an add-on that makes the game unfair if we do not have it. I say download the Fuc*ing SF upgrade and crack the serial and play. It was a VERY LOW BLOW to do this to the BF community to do this. The SF should be a totally separate game with its own weapons.

      Now now boys, play nice.
He does have a point about the cd though, if he has bought the game and lost the cd, just download it and use ur own serial again.

Scan your manual w/cd key and email it to EA's Tech support. They will mail you a new CD.

Of course, if you have the manual you could have seen the tech support information in there and should have already done this.

Coming into a game forum and asking for ways to circumvent the game's anit-piracy code is not the thing to do.

My BF2 works fine, I was posting this for the other poor fellow who was pretty much told to buy the CD and that he was a scamming freeloader.

That was not what he was asking, I feel bad for us when we automatically flame someone for your own interpretation (though incorrect) of someone’s post.

I thought cd keys were 10 $ from Ea if you had proof of purchase.

I know a couple of people who downloaded the game, borrowed a cd from a friend and got thier own personal cd key. Im probably wrong but eh,

Also people who download SF (Many people did, I was going to myself to test it out and if it was good, I'd buy it which I did in the end) need to play on cracked servers which are pretty much always full and full of high pings from around the world so its pretty much pointless.

there is actually a NO CD crack for BF2 which does work and technically if u used ur own key that would work but of course it cannot be guaranteed punkbuster wont pick it up and blacklist your serial.

No cd cracks wont work, and if there was one released that did work, it would only work for that version of the game and would be useless until there was another. Most people mount it, I've tried it but haven't managed to pull it off.

                            Stopped reading right there.

With that kinda attitude, I couldn't care less what your problem is.
In fact, I hope it prevents you from playing ever again.

We need fewer smack-tards as it is.

                              Re: Lost CD... Thread locked?

I think Valve did right with the Steam system. There's no need this day and age to put a disk into your computer to play a game. And the serial number mess is way dated. I used to think that cd keys were unique to that very disk, whether it was Windows or a game. Now I realize how much of a nightmare that'd be to impliment (making sure the exact right cd went to the exact right key). Mass production would slip to a mind boggling crawl.

With key generators, ***** hacks, and programs that strip off specific technologies, anti-piracy in general just needs to figure out completely new direction to head in.

If it was me, I'd probably try to make a disc that allows for a single write pass on one section of the disc, and when you register your game, music, movie, it imprints a unique ID onto the disk. After that point, it always checks for that imprint. That'd let you resize movies for your pda/phone/ipod, move music to your mp3 player, and load a game to your hard drive and store the disc for reinstalls (by imprinting your unique id along with the registry key). Until those silly strings of letters and numbers become actually unique, there's no end in sight to easy anti-piracy hacking, even innocent hacking like a no cd hack for a legitimate owner.
