I don't know what the deal is with promotions. I'm a Master Sergeant and I don't even go for badges at all. Hell, I'll probably never get any type of Medic recommendation because I rarely play the darn thing.
Furthermore I despise Spec-Ops because it's too darn easy, so, I'm sure I have nothing in that regard.
Yet! I'm still Master Sergeant. So, maybe it's so "strict" as people would have us belevie? Maybe ya' just have to keep playing and hope somthing comes of it?
heya flamingo, yeah I have the same problem as I'm at 5200+ currently and to make SSgt you need 5000, dunno what gives, a stats issue? Waiting for anyone to shed light on this, no worries as my screen shows that I'm a hair away from it in the progress bar
Not sure why but the same thing happened with me. It took a day, I guess my stats had to be uploaded or something. I had at least 150 points above the required amount, then once I rebooted, next day, I made 1 kill, then got promoted. Then I restarted the game , and selected my unlock!
Here are some observations that I have made that may prove to be true and might not...
It seems to take just a little longer (for rank and awards to record) on officialy leased servers than it does if you happen to be playing on EA servers.
If you are playing and you make rank - stay on the server and keep playing until it shows up in BFHQ. If you make rank, medal, ribbon, etc. and log off immediately, you will just earn it again once you get back on another server.

You get Master Sergeant for having 20,000 points. First Sergeant requires the badges.
Ok.. so I'm at 8001 points, (8005 onces it refreshes). But I still didn't get promoted? Any help on this?
The only thing I don't have is my explosive ordinance badge. Do I absolutely need this badge to get promoted?

u do not need explosives badge to get promoted, and jsut wait like 10mins, exit the game, wait 10mins, then go back and unlock ur new weapon and get ur new rank
