Ya the knife badge was probably the hardest for me to get but I finally got it after trying 4 or 5 times. What I did was get in a Humvee or one of those Buggies then drive towards an enemy and hop out and shank him. I'd get killed 3 or 4 times before I'd actually kill someone though. Another thing I did was go after the enemy commander. But like dirtylarryuk said, after killing them 2 or 3 times they catch on.

I got mine on sharqia peninsula on a 32 person map with only 20 people playing. I went commander and luckily the flag between the construction site and the entrance (can't remember what that flag is called) was in contention the whole time. I kept the uav running almost constantly to help me and my team. I got most of the kills around that wall next to the flag.

I had time to do enough commander stuff so our team won the round luckily. I don't think many people will appreciate it if you use the commander position to help you get your knife badge at the expense of the team, but if you can do it while helping the team in the process like I did you won't see many complaints.

I got my basic knife by acting nuts and charging people on karkand even if it ment death lol.

To aid our friend, which kit is better for knifing?

- Medic (for heals/sprint)
- Assault (for smoke/armor)

Well thats clever and stupid asking folk to help get your knife badge, why dont you go the full hogg and ask folk to help get your scores up too.

if anyone is stupid enough to stand there and get knifed again and again there as stupid as you.

My advice delete this thread and ask for advice . isnt that s bad as stat paddling ,

I think sniper kit is best cause all of the snipers look the same so when you approch an enemy they often mistake you for a friendly thinking that they are just experiencing the pain in the ass friend or foe tag bug. I found the knife badge to be easy cause I use it alot, excellent weapon cause its a 1 hit kill deal except for assult and support guys. And it's virtually silent. Perfect weapon to take down noob tubers cause they cant fire since you're right next to them.

It is hard to get but once you start trying you will get better at it. Try a map where there are many snipers. Go up behind them and do them in one by one. Karkand is nice, Also clean sweep, many snipers like to sit on hill tops in middle area. As stated above, in narrow pathways, just start slashing, yes you will die.

BTW, when you join a server, try to join one with NO CLAN TAGS. Knife kills will be more difficult on them!

I got some questions after reading some replies....

1) Are there just knife and pistol maps?

2) I've been using medic, what kits do you use? With medic, I can build up my health and start hunting for kills again if I get hurt.

3) Is there a site that lists all the BF2 servers and their realtime info? I want to find a small map server with a high time limit and high respawn count. One problem I have is that I get to 5 knife kills and then the game ends because game reaches the time limit.

4) Finally, is it me or can you not use your knife when you're sprinting?

Before anyone else comes in here with a chip on his/her shoudler about knife/pistol maps, I'll say it.

Yes, there are knife/pistol only servers. They aren't ranked, because EA has stated that restricting weapons on a server like that is basically like cheating. They can be a nice place to practice for the ranked servers, however.

It's pretty simple to get the badge once you get the hang of it. The way i got my basic knife was by acting like i was hunting and stalking prey. You just wait a moderate distance away from a location that people could walk past you or stand for a sec then you jump out of wherever you are and run at them and knife them. Trust me it works. No one really listens to their speakers and pays attention to close foot steps so you have the upper hand. This may sound dumb but i'm only suggesting it to you. Just spawn camp. Seriously. I have never understood people's facination with express routes of getting badges

ask yourself this, whats the point of the badge?

- is it to impress your friends?
- is it to impress yourself?

Well by asking for assistance, you will never impress your friend, they will know you were pathedic and you suck, badge or not

Will you impress yourself? no, because you know you didnt earn the badge, it has no meaning

You know EA was successful in brainwashing the kids when they go all crazy, even pays money just to get a badge that servers no purpose what so ever, not even pride.
