3D Max or Cinema 4d?

Which is better for designing and modeling stuff? I plan to design random concept stuff thats in my head. Also along with your answer, what are some sites for completly new people in that program.
I found some tut sites for both but, the problem is the tuts say
"Do this and do that", and I say
"Where is this and where is that?".

Cinema 4d is not really meant for any modeling for games, but what it is good for is learning the basic of 3d modeling. At my high school this was the program that you started with before moving onto 3d studio max which powerd a lot more then cinema 4d but was a lot more advanced and complicated.

Cinema 4d for starters (no real modding advantage)
3D studio Max (advanced but better for gamers)

Personally I've found XSI quicker and easier to model with than MAX. MAX is, however, far more widely used in the games world and very common amongst MOD teams...more so than MAYA. So pay yr money and take yr choice. You can download trials or personal learning editions of most modelling software. It's worth finding something that you can work easily with. Many ppl use .obj to share static meshes...and these can easily be exported/imported from the above software. My Team uses MAX, but as stated, I prefer XSI for speed and user-friendliness. I've just bought MAX myself and will spend holidays learning to use it...mainly for Character Studio.

Have a shop around and try a range of software- don't forget Lightwave and Zbrush as well as C4D. (Hell, even Milkshape is a useful tool for learning the basics with...)
