Please, i need help!!!

Am desperate folks.
Have been playing from day one with not too many problems. Decided to max my screen res to 1280*1024. All i now get is a black screen on start up of game. The sound is working but nothing else. I cannot see the menu screen to reduce my res??? Dont know what to do!!!

athlon 64 3500
asus av8 mobo
aopen 6800gt(o'clocked to ultra speeds) 81.95drivers
2*1gig corsair vs pc3700 dual channel

Go into this folder in your my documents(C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache) and delete the files in it. If that doesnt work you might try deleting the entire bf2 folder in your MYDOCUMENTS!!!not program files. Or try editing your video.con file but I havent ventured that far yet.

Thanks for the advice. Had to delete the bf2 folder in my documents. Works ok now.
Does this mean i am not able to run this game on med/high settings at no more than 1024*768 screen res? I would of thought with my system specs i could run it higher?

You should be able to run on mostly high at 1280x1024...

Your system is better than mine and I'm running 1280x1024 on high.

try going into your video card settings and check things out. On mine i didnt have the "Allow Application to chose AA settings" checked so it screwed with my game. Im running the 5.11 catalyst for ATI though

Have gone through my cards settings and i cannot find anything. Tried full res again and i get the black screen again. Dont know what to do now??Any suggestions??

Try going here:

C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Settings

and edit this file using notepad.exe:

VideoDefault.con

and change these lines:

renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0
renderer.setFullScreen 0

to

renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1
renderer.setFullScreen 1
