You can still play any game really nice and pretty right? If so, no need to get too worked up about overclocking and some benchmark score and all right?:)

              :) no worries.

A tip would be to read reviews of cards to get a good idea of where you stand. For example @ http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/evga_g...gt/page6.shtml
you'll see how the eVga 6800GT performed in 3dMark03. Just make sure the maker and the test comp are not too different from your own.

Plenty of reviews to google for

i just got a score of 5118 which is a great improvement. i had never oc'd the vid card, so by increasing the core clock by 10 mhz and mem clock by 10 ghz i increassed my score substantially. it was originaly 4395.

                :)

                  Re: 3dmark????

Once you benchmark your system with 3dmark05, compare it with others through futuremark's database. You can find out how your system compares with others and maybe even tips on getting your benchmark higher.

The reason why people say that a lower amount of memory is better for benchmarks is timing. You can tweak your memory timings a little tighter/lower for faster system response and better benchmarks.

You could probably benchmark with just 512MB and get a few points higher than with 2GB. But that's just for the benchmark program. We all know that 512MB does not work as well as 1GB or more for BF2.

                  I'm scoring around 6100 currently with a x850xl, 1GB, and A64 3200+ ,non-overclocked system. That's good enough for me. :)

I'm not sure if this works, but this is my system on futuremark.

There's a thread in the Support forum with lots of 3DMark results and discussion, you should check it out to see what score others with similar system specs have gotten: http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27352

To give some idea of how relevant 3DMark is: With my ATI X800XT PE I got
6500 points. Now I'm using a 7800GT and get about 8000 points. In BF2 on
Operation Cleansweep by the US F-15 hangar I got about 48FPS with the
ATI. With the 7800GT I get about 93FPS. In my experience this spot on
Cleansweep has the lowest FPS in BF2. The difference between the cards is
a bit bigger than 3DMark suggests.
