Re: Core issues: The Plight of the Engineer

Now that you can blow up your mines with your grenades I find the Engineer a little more useful. When you can mine-grenade a tank it's even more powerful then c4. Making a chain of mines and destroy the first one with a grenade can result in a lot of infantry kills if you time it right.

Woah. Nice thinking BurnTheWeed. I've got to remember to try some of those out.

Well my idea of sending it back into the Engy's kit would be the same effect, only without the nuisance of going back to rearm it, and putting yourself in harms way for the upcoming armor.

Also, you would have the option if placing it elsewhere if you so desired.

          I agree. This is PERFECT!

A+ thread guys. This is rare.

I also like the idea of burrying the mine by holding down the fire button. They can still be thrown down but can also be burryed.
I image the interface being like repairing. There's an indicator on the screen with a bar that fills the longer you hold it down....

Too complicated to set up, with a high rate of failure since someone (friend or foe) can detonate your mines prematurely and with ease.

I've tried it, but every situation in which I made it work would've been better and more quickly addressed by C4.

I like the idea of the mines disarming when a friendly drives over them. I would also like to see the engie Keep the Pump Action Shotgun, but get some Anti Personel mines or some satchel charges. If the engie gets more explosives, then he can set up ambushes, and would be seeing more CQC.

                yep great thread here,

i think the engineer class should be improved aswell, like the guy that started this thread i played engineer in bf1942 100% of the time and HELL that was awsome, it was rare to see a tank that could pass by me and stay alive the mines were awsome, and the expacks helped like hell aswell.

about the main gun i love the pump action shotguns, they are amazing in city maps but in open maps it becomes allmost useless, to be honest, i would give everygun away just to have a bolt action rifle in bf2, the gun was amazing u could hit targets as far u could see and it was allways one hit one kill in the head (in bf1942 i got used to allways aim to the head),

GIVE ME BACK MY Nr.4 RIFLE!!!!! hehehe

                  thats a sweet idea.

I don't know, I haven't had much luck with c4 thanks to the stupid detonator glitch. Sometimes a mine+grenade is just the thing.

Aye a big thumbs up from me for this thread!

I loved engy back in BF1942 and its totally nerfed now..

Mines recognizing friendlies would be a big step in the right direction and maybe a timed C4 charge or something to distinguish from it from the spec ops kit..

Also the introduction of a singleshot rifle or something similar for the engy kit would make it a great defensive kit.. something that would fit in well IMO

Re: Core issues: The Plight of the Engineer

Whats unfair is the fact that engineers dont get enough points for repairing...what is it like 1 point for every 1 repair on a tank? Should be 2 points or 1 point for reparing half of the tank's health. I like how they give the engineers grenades cause thats one disadvantage engineers had to go into battle with in bf1942. I'am gald the blowtorch didn't return cause that would be the number one choice weapon for tards...bringing a friendly tank's health all the way to 1 hp. They should have given snipers bouncing betties as an unlock from claymores so you have a choice, man do I miss those.
