    *SERIOUS* SF Lag...

    Greetings, all!!

    I have a P4 2.8GHz, 2 Gigs of RAM, nVidia 6600 GT OC.

I can play the original BF2 on Medium and performance is great. If I ever try to play SF, my FPS bottoms out and it's impossible to play. I hate not being able to participate with my squadmates when we have SF nights.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I have thought about setting SF to low, but does this affect "regular" BF2 settings as well?

Any help/guidance would be a HUGE help. Thanks!!

I was in the same boat. I bumped all to low, but then changed view distance to 100% and it runs fine.

Sucks to have to do, but its what worked.

    I have a P4 2.66
    2G ram
    6800 nVidia (not GT)

        FPS drop is not lag.

            I have:

            P4 2.8 GHz
            1.5 gigs Ram
            9800 pro ATI vid card
Using XG Warcats driver - from www.tweaksrus.com i think they have a driver for nVida if i'm not mistaken

i get around 35-45 FPS. I can get as high as the 80s only when there's very little action going on.

All settings on medium (with res set at 1024x768) except geometries and textures on high. Dynamic lighting turned off but 2x AA. Distance out to 90%.

Also, I found that Defragging your drive helps a little with lag and that chicken soup is effective in treating the common cold.
