    Re: M95 Rant

If the m95 as stated has vhigh damage it should kill chest shot with 1 shot reason being.

The m95 is listed as vhigh damage and it kills with 2 shots to chest.

The m24 is listed as high damage and it kills with 2 shots to the chest.

Please don't say but the m95 does do higher damage then the m24 as it leaves you with only 2 bars of health, but it still takes 2 shots to the chest to kill making the damage the same as the m24.

So my way of thinking they should either increase the power on the m95 in game so it kills with 1 shot to the chest or drop the power on the m24 to take 3 shots to chest to kill (which will **** a lot of people off).

If that's the case, the semi-auto snipers such as SVD better be 4 shots (due to spam). In effect, the sniper class basically becomes useless. No, I think its the M95 that needs changing. The other rifles are fine as far as I can see.

I like the ability to stun, as someone mentioned earlier. Possibly knock down the target altogether (more realistic than stun). It gives you a better chance for a second hit, due to load time of bolt actions.

I would be happy with a reduction of the crosshair, no need for all this changing of damage and abilities. The way it is now, if the target is even remotely damaged, you are going to get a kill provided if you can hit them. Recude the crosshairs and let me hit them, and I can accept the 2 shot kill with the M95.

Look at it this way, if the target has minor damage, a M24 still takes two shots. With the M95, all is needed is one shot. Change the lame scope, I'd say.

On Sharqi, how do you snipe headshots all the way over to the helo pad? I hardly get that accuracy at that distance when shooting at a stationary target after waiting for a few seconds for the cross hairs to settle ( when i shoot from construction site).

From my experience the M95 is more accurate and has less bullet drop. I score more headshots from greater distances than with the M24. Besides after killing my first helo pilot and watching the helo spin out of control with a full squad in it was priceless, I could never go back.

Hmmmm....from what I've ever read and my limited sniper experience, the M24 seems more accurate. But I only used the M95 earlier when I was JimmyTotallyNoobtron.

So would everyone else, and now the game would be an unbalanced steaming pile of crap.

The one thing I do like doing with the M95, if I don't get the headshot, is pull out the pistol and rack up the kills there......the long range shot with the pistol is about as good as with the rifle

                  Re: M95 Rant

The m95 is half as acurrate as the m24, their bullet drop is the same, the m95 does slightly more damage. If you can see it with the m95 you can hit it. I am not kidding either. I've killed people over 400 meters. Its all about figuring out what the bullet drop will be for the distance.

Two thick lines intersect in the middle, blocking nearly as much below the crosshair as the SVD. However, it also blocks top, left and right. The best crosshair IMO is the M24, with two thin lines that block very little.
Actually I really like the type 88 crosshairs, I think it's the best scope. But the M24 is the best sniper rifle hands down.

i kinda liek teh M95 , took me a while to get used to it but its good imo .

Guess it all depends on personal favor , and yeh i can even snipe people from miles in vehicles

Give it time and practice and youll feel realy well after takin down a few choppers in a round or blow up APC's

2 armor bars per hit ...on APC .

I may unlock it for the chopper pilots hovering over a flag to cap it.

The secret about the m95 and it's damage meter is that you have to get to where the action is. Meaning that you want your targets already to be a little bit injured when you engage them. It is almost always an instant kill where it doesn't matter if you hit him in his pinky-toe or in the upper torso. Given the enemy has already lost a couple bars of health.
The m95's scope sucks I must agree, however.

I don't buy this perspective. If the M95 was 1S1K, not everyone would be using it. Why? Because the sniper class is too much of a narrow-focused class to be used in more than a few situations. If a tank rolls into your main base, you've got two choices: spawn as AT, or spawn at Spec Ops. You would never think "Well the M95 is 1S1K, that would be fun!" If a squad over-runs a post, you're not likely to grab the M95 and hope you can bolt-action 3 or 4 guys in close quarters - you'd pick assault/spec ops/support/medic.

There will still be plenty of people playing every other class, in fact, I doubt the usage percentage of each class would change much, because the simple fact is: people will still want to be medics, people will still want to be Spec Ops, people will still want to use nade launchers with the Assault class, everyone loves the AT class, and the odd guy will want to give out ammo with Support.

Boosting the damage on the M95 to 1S1K will reward people who worked to unlock the damn gun and make the gun worthy of being an "unlockable". Nerfing the gun so that its apparently better balanced is a joke - the M95 is available to both sides at any time - you can't unbalance game if both sides have the same "unbalanced" weapon. And sniping still does take skill, no matter what anyone says it's not exactly easy to snipe someone running away from you at an angle while dealing with bullet speed, bullet drop, lag and the physics of the shot involved.

I say: make the M95 1S1K, increase the zoom and give it two levels of zoom (the zoom is also a joke for a gun that can kill someone over a kilometre (1000m) away, especially in a game where you can barely see greater than 400m.) and you will make a lot of people happy. Sniping is a relatively rare skill seen in BF2 - making the M95 1S1K will certainly make the class more popular, but will also make rounds more exciting because then you'll actually have to worry about getting sniped from long distances, none of the CQC sniping that you see now - ie. sniping down the street at Karkand - what a joke.

And fix the damn crosshairs - they're ridiculously wide and thick and make it near impossible to snipe at long range - which is what snipers do. Gah, Dice's decisions blow my mind sometimes...

                              Re: M95 Rant

the m95 has crappy sights for one, they just are too thick. This may be why the m24 seems more accurate since you really can't tell if you are truely on target or not at long distance. Another thing about the m95 is you have to know how to shoot with it. Once I learned, I scored plenty of head shots, then went to the m24, and did the same. Basically this is how I see it, if I want to be more stealthy, I go with the m24 because it doesnt make as large of a BOOM lol. But if I know there are enemy pilots that 1) don't know how to hover so land trying to cap a point or 2) enemy pilots that dont know how to hover properly so sit in one spot making them just as easy targets as if they were on the ground.

either way...really its just preference. They wont make the gun more powerful so just...deal with it. Yea I know in real life the 50 cal ammo can rip through an armored car...so...just pretend it fires the same ammo as the m24 :p
