laggy start!!! HELP!!!!

I dont get it since 1.3 came out and now 1.12 i have been getting alot of startup lag that lasts like 5 mins, then after that its random freezing for a second. THis is bad when flyin a plane. Now using fraps i get 51 frames solid, and my ping in the server is liike 60-70 also i have no programs running in the background I am tho on a wireless internet connection but this should not be a issue because this is a recent event. Anyone know whats going on???

I have the same on the occasion. My framerates are silky smooth on all the highest settings yet I get this stuttering lag that is a total annoyance. I have to put up with it for a good 3 or 4 minutes before it finally smoothes out. Within that time I've died about 5 times.

The thing is... it will do it regardless of whether anyone is on the server or not! Although having lots planes and helicopters flying about makes it even worse.

i got the same problem but mine only lasts about 1 min if that i put it down to having 768 of ram not 1G and i get it when im transport as well some times my pings about 20-40 and i got a geforce 6800 so i dont think any of them are causing it

I only get it at initial joining, after spawning in and until I move a few feet. This problem is mainly caused by the BF2 server, until your game catches up with the others in the server you just joined. I'm sure a BAD ping/connection, SLOW CPU, video card and RAM will only make it worse.
