All I can stand, I can't stand no more!!!! Connection Problems

This has been happening I guess since the 1st quick patch that they had and has gotten worse since SF. I CONSTANTLY have the "Problem with intenet connection" message pop up. I am talking about 15 to 25 times or more a match. Not at the beginning when people are entering into the match either. It ****es me off because I have probably died about 1,500 times because of this. It will pause for about 2 to 5 seconds right when I see someone and let out the first shot or when I am trying to run away. I have all my setting on low...everything and not AA/AF. I defrag weekly, my cpu is clean, I turned off the firewall, I allowed the ports in the router firewall, I turn off programs when I start the game and have tried the suggestions on that BF2 lag site. ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS!!!! PLEASE HELP!!! Oh and my the cable option is checked in the control section. My specs are:

    ATI 9800 pro
    AMD Athlon XP 3200+
    2gb ram pc2700

ITS BF2 all the way, i have the same problem!!!! I went and played CSS FarCry Raven SHield and Star Wars battlefront online and they all work fine.

back to BF2, my framerates stays at a normal 50FPS and my lag is only 60, my wireless connection is perfect and i am getting 2.4MB a second, yet it still lags up. Its the game and the game only, it was bugged from the start.

"This game is more bugged then RavenShield back in the day"

I like the 1.12 patch but I have noticed every 2 matches or so
(not in a row) I get a problem with your connection messege then I get kicked off the server.

I love and hate this patch.

Ok in the in game sound options turn the sound quality to low and turn EAX off. I know this sounds wierd but I had the same issue had my internet company at my house 3 times this solved it.

Ok I will try this. I noticed when I play my ping will be good (30 to 60) range then all of the sudden jump to something insace (500 to 800) range and of course this is when I get there is a problem with the internet connection message. Could there be a problem with the router or modem? I already forwarded the ports in the router, but maybe I missed something. I don't have another online game to try this with unless you count the old UT 2k4 which ran fine.

This happenes to me as well! After this 1.12 patch my ping is jumping to 600-700 (From 17-20!!) and says connection problems dectected, this happens to me every few mintues. It only happens in bf2:censored: :cussing:

Any solutions other than turning your sound low?

Its the game, the cause of that problem is still unknown but what is know that 98 % of the time is not your connection. Probably a server pinging corruptly and such. To some it happens often, to others not much.

Just have to wait tight till they fix it or play 1.0.3 ..

Make sure your connection speed is set for Cable ot T1 could be BF2 is trying to send to much info. I know I was goin crazy for weeks til I turned down the sound and then it all ran great.

Sorry to bring this thread from the dead but I have still been having the same problems. I wanted to know if other people that have had this problem are connected through a router or straight to their modem. The reason I asked is that I came to my parents house and hooked up my laptop to their modem. I didn't think i would be able to play multiplayer considering this is not a gaming laptop. But I was able to play on 64 player severs with NO problems. No lag, no connection messages at all. Sadly both my laptop and my cpu at home are configured with the same in game settings (all low), even though my cpu at home should be able to handle some medium settings (9800 pro, 1gb ram, AMD 3200+). Just didn't do it because of that connection message all the time. Anyway I am guess the problem is the connection itself (Comcast at my parents vs Insight cable at home) or my router. I am hoping its the router.

So plug your pc straight into the cable modem and see if the problem goes away...divide the pie so to speak. This will quickly identify if the prob is ISP or router...

I am connect straight through my modem and I get Conection Problems Detected very often. I doubt this is my IP as it only happened after the lastest patch

Contact your ISP. I don't get them much but a week ago I couldn't play over 20 mins. I have ADSL. The Isp said my net had been disconnected because of payments and such, my connection still worked, I could goto the internet but it kept on dropping out. Try repairing your connection or if your modem comes with drivers, try that. If all else fails and you haven't been getting these problems before they started, contact ISP.

Re: All I can stand, I can't stand no more!!!! Connection Problems

Heh, i am having the same problem, i've researched it a bit and here's what i know:

While playing on servers to which i have ~20 ping,
everything went lagless until i get into a fast moving vehicle,
or especially a chopper or a jet

Then my ping starts jumping to 600, 400, etc.

Now, my pc's go like that:
                              pc_b -> pc_a -> cable modem

i play bf2 on pc_a (where i've recently reinstalled windows hoping to fix this problem)
no firewalls are turned on at all too.

I put ping plotter(software that traceroutes specific ip's every couple of seconds)
on pc_b and made it ping the server while on pc_a i was in bf2 playing it

                              all went well at first,
then suddenly the first hops (pc_a to isp) and together with them,
all of the rest started going completely haywire.

I don't know what causes this problem,
it might be the game flooding my connection,
or it might be my cable modem, or my isp,

but i see that i'm def. not the only one having this problem
so most likely it's the game.
