Hey bit of a novice. Was just wandering if anyone could tell me if this card will work at all with BF2. At the moment if wont even start. Is the card just too old and crap?

HAHA MX 420's are so good i had one like 5 months ago.

Hey man, i was just like you when i wanted to play everquest 2 with my 420, and i tried so hard to find any possible way. The reason you can't is becuase it doesnt support either pixel or vertex shaders, i cant remember which one. Any way, after searching for a long time, on some forums some guy posted a program that you can download for freee that will emulate either the pixel or vertex shaders that the 420 is missing.
Well, i downloaded it and it really didnt work at all, the game was just so ugly w/ all this graphic **** missing from it and the program messed up some stuff on my system. I would tell you where to find it cause you might have better luck with it, but i can't remeber where i found it. You might want to try google searching for it, you could find it that way.

P.S.- You'll be WAY better of just spending the cash on a new card, i just upgraded my mx 420 to the fx 5500.

if your getting a really low budjet card it has to be the 9700 pro

it will destroy the fx5500 even though its older
it has double the pipelines and is 256bit

just have to find one thats the problem

The MX series cards were NEVER good. You can't even compare it to the 7800gtx. Hell my old TNT2 Ultra AGP card would outperform any MX card.

lol I have a old computer with some old mx4 I just use it to download stuff:|: that i'm not sure of.
