Noob needs help

I bought Special Forces, downloaded the 1.12 patch, now nothing is the same. Everythings been a pain in the ass. Whenever I refresh the server page I end up with not being able to select any servers. None show up on the list. Does anyone know why this is?

So, did you install SF, then patch? Or did you patch then install SF.

Correct order:

1. Install BF2 if you have not already
2. Patch BF2 to 1.03 if you have not already
3. Install SF
4. Patch to 1.12

Run, play, kill, mame

See, it was step (4) that threw me when I first started playing...

I already had the original and the original pathc installed. Then I installed SF and patched it to 1.12. I'm not sure if it's my firewall or what but it's really frustrating. I refresh the server list and all the servers dissapear. Grrr.

Might be the 'More than 6 filters selected' bug in the server browser. Try deselectling filters until you have 6 or less selected, press 'apply filters'. If that was the problem that should 'fix' it.

unselect your filters - just pick a couple - dont go nuts

Do you really need step 3??? I though 1.12 contains 1.03. I omitted step 3 myself and SF runs with no problems. dunno about BF2 though, as I dont play it anymore, the warlord has taken over my life :)

I would think that you do need step 3 if you wanna play SF. Maybe its just me tho.

You do not need to install the 1.03 patch. Just the 1.12

I just posted what I knew worked - heh.

I would think that 1.12 would include 1.03 - but I did not want to speculate and I was too lazy to look it up. Glad others piped up and filled in the blanks.

yeah it was 6 max now its 5 max for me at least
