    Connection Sharing BF2

I've searched, but I know it's possible someone may have posted a similar topic without knowing the proper terminology.

OK, some games have problems when 2 pcs are sharing an Internet connection with both playing on a server (not LAN) at the same time. I know that if the router uses NAT you would have to forward ports and whatnot, but I don't know how to do that honestly.

My question is, has anyone tried BF2 with 2 pcs sharing a connection? Does it work ok? or will certain things need to be done?

    Thanks

    Re: Connection Sharing BF2

I have 2 computers playing BF2 and we play at the same time usually. I have a DSL modem (same set up will work with cable modem) and couldnt get the router to work with 2 computers on BF2. I went out and bought a "Hub" about the same price as a router and the Hub is plug and play so I was the easiest way to go. Some days we have to adjust our video settings down a bit, but both computers will usually (even on bad days) run with all settings on medium and AA off. I hope this helps....Red

Yes, that definitely helps, except, where is your hub at on the network? after the router I assume? and you're both running from the hub? or just one while the other is connected to the router?

        Update:

BF2 works fine behind my 2-wire with two people playing from the same router. There were a few lag issues when one of us was loading, but other than that, perfect.

I have 2 machines running BF2 at the same time on the same server no problem.

Using a plain old Linksys BEFSR41 on a Motorola Canopy wireless radio.
