I know pretty much everything here has been said before but i have recently been using this tactic a lot and getting quite a bit of joy from it so thought i'd share the love, so to speak.
Basically were going for a roadside bomb... Sounds simple but i have seen many people lay their C4 in the road waiting for a vehicle to come rumbling past but the problem is that most drivers are now aware that the pretty packages on the floor only lead to hot death so drive around them. What i found very useful on Karkand is to use the plants in the middle of the road (only works for MEC from the off but as the battle goes you can use it as US as well). The trick is to plant 3 or 4 packs on the back of the plant (oposite side to the oncoming victim) and wait for them to roll past. This way they cannot see the packs so cannot avoid them and you get some nice easy kills! Playing as MEC i managed to hold of all of the US armour for about 6-7 mins which aint much i admit but it sure helps your team out and your score it has to be said!
Also found this works well on Wake Island as the paths round the island are quite narrow so by placing to the left and right had side of the road you can back of and wait for the vehicles to come rolling along and unleash hell!
There are many places that this tactic can be used to great effect, basically any narrow road or something that you can hide your charges in. The main thing you need to think about is where you place the charges. Avoid the floor as it's easy to see... same principles as using to defend flags really, stick to walls, base of flag etc, basically places people don't look automatically and you should see your kills rack up in no time!
Anyway just thought i would pass this little tit bit of info and if anyone would like to expand on this feel free, always good to learn new ways to kill people...
