BF2 Wont Run. Please help

Alright i dont know why this is happening when i try to start the game after the installation it shows the slpash screen and the a black screen and then crashes. I am led to believe this is because of my video card. Here are my specs please help i really want ot start playing.

CPU: Intel P4 551 3.4G
Motherboard: Abit Fatality 925XE
Ram: 1G OC2 (512X2) pc4400
Graphics Card: GeForce 7800GTX PCI-E
Hard Drive: Raptor 36 G / 200G SATA

does it crash/lock up or is your firewall blocking the application access to the internet, i have a problem alt-tabbing and have a 7800sli, when i play i use a desktop res of 1024 x 786, its a pain but i can alt tab

No the system does not lock up. The game crashes.

When i installed the game i tried to play it and it said cannot find "d3dx9_25.dll" i fixed this problem by downloading the file and placing it in the windows directory. Could this be the cause of my game crashing before i can even see the menu?

make sure you have the latest driver installed

also try reinstalling dx9 and make sure you have BF2 patch 1.12 installed

I have tried reinstalling Dx9 that didn't help.
I am currently downloading 1.12 patch. (Dial-up for now)
And i have 81.95 already installed.
Any other ideas?

uninstall
remove reigistry keys
.and reinstall

ok i have fixed that problem i finally got the 1.12 patch that fixed that problem but uncovered new ones.

When i click the single player button to create a profile it crashes to desktop.
and when i try to play the game it crashes to desktop every time. Any idea how to fix this.
