Servers show up as empty and no ping times

Newbie here....haven't played BF2 in a while. Now when I go to multiplayer, the server list only shows a couple of servers usually with nobody in it and the ping times are all at zero. I can't connect to any of the servers. Logging into the account server is fine but the server list doesn't update. I can't seem to play online anymore. I've tried selecting 6 random filters as someone on this site suggested but still the same issue.

Anyone have any ideas??? I'd really like to start playing again, since now SF is out.

update your game. you need patch 1.12 after special forces is installed.

I haven't installed SF yet and I already updated to patch 1.12. Is there anything else I can do? Is it possible to uninstall and reinstall the patch?

try to connect to a server IP directly, see if it works for u.
