Doesanyone use VOIP anmore?

I used it once in 20 games where it was cool to have everyone on the helo using VOIP.

i use it when commander or if ppl in my sqaud arnt on Vent or TS then i do

In all the servers ive been in, ive only used voip a few times, you know when you find someone whos actually good and you get along with- then i use it. Most of the time people just go into squads for the sake of it, when everyone is talking it makes this game one of the greatest ever. :)

For me, VOIP works only intermittently, so I rarely get to use it. Instead, I run Skype in the background, and hold a conference call with clan members before hitting up a server: its effectively the same, except you don’t have to worry about pressing a hotkey to talk, and it works even if your members aren’t in the same squad. Which is kinda cool. Either way, it gives a huge tactical advantage over typing orders or using the tactical command rose to co-ordinate your unit.

I use it all the time in pubs, but i have noticed that there is a bug with it and some time doesnt work when it says it does.

I thik it should be mandatory if you fly so you can talk to the other crew member and be alot more effective by comunicating and working together.

Totally agree with this...When playing with my clan we got a huge advantage using Ventrillo against the other lone squads...cause we are all(everysquad) in constant contact rather then the people using the original VOIP ingame...To me, this could be a very if not the most important "addon" that EA or DICE could implement in this AWESOME game(for example: to give every squad leader the ability to listen to each other and so on with the commander...PLEASE guys stay with this tip...LOL

we use Teamspeak.

You'd be surprised at how many times we've been kicked. Simply because we use TS to communicate, and non clan members in the squad can't understand how we can know precisely where an enemy was without Q, Spotted! every 10 seconds.

In short: It's best to use some 3rd party chat program. For many reasons, you don't have to be in the same squad to communicate, you can have a ground squad and a helo squad providing support overhead.
If the game server crashes, you get kicked, looking for non-retard server then you can still communicate.

I use it all the time now. I just found TS to be too much chaos sometimes with the amount of people in there and trying to connect to the TS servers; unless you have a couple favorites than you might want to use TS.
I have been doing a lot more squad leading and communicating with the commander; from there the commander can pass on the word to the other squads or execute the order. Once again it falls on a good commander though to have some balls and give out some commands; using your mic or commander tools available.

If you know what you are doing and follow orders, why bother!

Oh also, I forgot to say; if using any form of VOIP, especially third party software, you can get away with mad amounts of foul language, AND dont get kicked for it! Its also good to have someone to chat to during the millenial intermissions between map change.
