Graphical Glitches

Hiya guys, ive been looking at this forum for months now (dunno why i aint signed up before) anyway im here now :). Since the servers started working again last night i have been having some very strange graphics in both bf2 and sf. It seems to get worse as i play on. Large sections of the ground turn black vehicles and other objects loose their texture and those multicoloured trees show up now and again. Just thought i would come on and see if this is another problem server side or if its down to me. If anyone knows how to fix it id be very happy. Just to re-cap everything was working fine untill last night and i doubt its my system.

amd 64bit 3400+ (clawhammer)
1gb ram

Well it is a pretty old card, maybe get a better one??? there's alot of stuff that could be, so i dont know what to tell you, that pic looks like back in the DC mod for 1942 if you fly out of bounds you would find a base without the buildings lol

I doubt its my card, it was working fine yesterday. Its the loss of textures thats really anoying me...... pure black tanks on black ground makes it impossible to see them

how many mb is the card? and when you install new drivers, remeber to clean out the old ones

its 256 yeh i forgot to clear out the old ones... I just started a fresh install of bf2 and sf so after its done ill clear out the old drivers and install the new ones.... ill let you know how i got on. ty

I've been watching the boards since the first patch as I get exactly the same thing but with overclocked 9800 PRO. Or did since the first patch. Got worse with second patch.

The games runs smooth at medium setting but I get the gliches 75% of boot ups.

Installing DNA drivers seemed to help for a week then it started again.

I have stress tested my card using ATI tool during a corrupted BF2 session and get no artifacts.

Things it could be:

Power supply as BF will push the card thus consume more power.
Now its winter the room is hot so card could be over heating.
BF pushes the OLDER cards over the edge once and a while which currupts the in memory textures.

How I solve it:

Soft reboots until BF is OK normally 2 reboots does the trick
Force BF to Reoptimise
Should reinstall BF2 but building new PC anyway.

ya i kno....anyways, i got a gefroce 5200 but i just isntalled some new drivers so going for a test drive tonight :-D
