BF2 Lock Ups

Hello,

Let me start with my specs first:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum-54G
Club3D X800 XT PE ( AGP )
Corsair XMS2048 TwinX ( 2x 1 Gig )
Creative SoundBlaster Fatal1ty FPS
Maxtor 250 Gig

I think thats the most important.

My problem is that BF2 locks up random for like 20 seconds. Sometimes i play a day without locking up and the other day it happens 5 times. The game keeps running after the lockups but it throws me back to the main menu, and says i got disconnected from the server.

All games work perfect cept the BF Series, i have a strong feeling it's the X800 XT.

Anyone else had/have these problems and know how to fix it?

It maybe the just general buggyness of BF2, has it always happend?

Yes, it always happend. I tried other drivers and stuff but no postive result for that.

Have you cleaned your old drivers prior to installing the new ones? If not then there is probably conflicts between the two. Here is a good post to read over. It uses graphics cards as an example, but in reality it is applicable to all drivers: http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23899

Well not long ago i had a clean install of XP, and i installed the latest drivers. And it still happend.....ill try playing without Xfire, i think thats that problem.

BF2 seems to not agree with X800XT cards in general too.
